Propellant-free solutions for in-space propulsion

Space tether technologies to de-orbit, reboost, make station keeping and harvest power without using propellant

GREEN SPACE PROPULSION TECHNOLOGY

The space sector is experiencing strong structural changes driven by new private actors, a dramatic cost reduction for orbital launch, new challenges like the space debris, and opportunities like the booming on-orbit servicing market.

To cover the new propulsion needs of the space sector, we offer a set of products based on ElectroDynamic Tethers (EDT) that can provide drag and a thrust without using propellant.

At PERSEI Space, we are committed to finding technological solutions for the sustainable use of space.

Our hallmark is the innovative space technology of EDTs.

As enablers of space technologies applied to post-mission disposal, active debris removal, and in-orbit servicing, we intend to share our insights to foster a more sustainable space sector.

How we do it:

Like sailing boats, that travel without fuel by using the wind, EDTs interact with the space environment (ambient plasma and geomagnetic field) to produce a force without using propellant.

WHAT ARE EDTs?

EDTs are in-orbit conductors that can provide drag and thrust without using propellant; effectively serving as de-orbiting devices as well as in-orbit propulsion solutions.

Propellant-free

We simply use natural resources of the space environment

Reversible

We can either propel any space vehicle or de-orbit it.

Reversible

EDTs are energyreversible: In Low Earth Orbit they can produce a drag and deorbit while producing power for onboard use or use onboard power to produce a thrust and reboost the spacecraft or make station keeping.

Scalable

For small to large applications, this technology can fit your needs

Scalable

This technology is scalable because the length, width and thickness of the tape can be chosen according to the propulsive needs of the mission.
